Watch this on Netflix!!Movie Reviews!

Always on Netflix, but never anything to watch?

Nugget, I already know how you feel on this one.
Always on Netflix and nothing new to watch, even though I have a plethora of films to choose from and somehow I end up watching the same show or movie.
This will begin the first of reviews posted on my blog.
Every Friday and Saturday,  I'll have a movie review for you to check out if you ever get tired of the same old, same old you keep re-watching, as I know I am guilty of that one. The movies will range from old flicks to brand new. So trust me, we together shall go down the film rabbit hole.
Hopefully, I can help expand your knowledge of film and genres and maybe you find a few new favorites, because that is always fun!
These are based off of my opinion and if you agree or disagree, let me know in the comments and let's talk about it and hey, maybe I learn something new, and I LOVE learning.
If you've seen either film, what did you think of the movie? Do you agree with my take? Let me know, nuggets.

So, here are the first two for Friday and Saturday to start us off - I'll have these in a timely manner in future post, bear with me, motherlovers.
Instead of re-watcing the past seasons of 'The Office' or 'Tokyo Ghoul' let me tell you of these films you have probably scrolled by few times.
Here is my review for The Good Son  and Masterminds.

The Good Son (1993)

Starting Macaulay Culkin and Elijah Woods, this film shows us that evil truly has no age limit.
Our main stars portray the good, Woods, and the bad, Culkin, at what I consider the best and creepiest way ever.
A small child has never been so scary since 'The Children of the Corn' - and you didn't fuck with those kids!!
Culkin, who portrays Henry, is a kid with no remorse for the actions he commits through out the film to all of his surrounding, including, GASP, family! I don't want to spoil this for you, but this is one of those films in which you've either seen as a child or never have in your life, as I have.
Woods plays Mark, a young boy who loses his mother and due to his father's work, has to go and stay with his uncle and aunt's home for two weeks and live with his cousins Henry and Connie.
Within those two weeks, we see the sinister and cruel persona that truly lies within Henry emerge and we soon learn that there are NO limitations to what both Henry and Mark will do.
The director, Joseph Ruben, and his crew do an amazing job to give this film a creepy and ominous atmosphere all throughout. It is well written to continue having the viewer stay aghast as every event unfolds leaving us stunned at the actions of a twelve year old. And even though the film is 24 years old, it still manages to rattle me and leave me feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
Some of the scenes that stand out to me are when Henry and Mark first appear together on screen and they wear the white mask that Henry made for them. What do you think the director was trying to tell us with that scene? As you watch, you'll see that Henry already has his on before we even meet him.
Mask are great way to hide your face, just saying.
Oh, and if you aren't a fan of blood, this film is perfect for you! The story telling is very well portrayed, so vivid and the young actors, at the time, carried the film so flawlessly. The movie itself was mind boggling and shockingly eerie that my jaw kept flying open every time I watched that even a twelve year old is capable of even the most malicious of acts.
But...
The scene responsible for sending chills down my spine is the one in which Henry and Mark are up in Henry's tree house and they argue about Henry's mother being Mark's mother as well. Henry, as calm and impassive as always lets Mark know not to "fuck with" him.
Jesus effing cheese!!
I am not going to ruin anymore of this movie for any of you, so go watch it!!
And if you already have, let me know what you thought of the film! Did you get as creep-ed out as I did?

 Masterminds (2016)

Cue the laugh track.
Gather round for an all star comedic ensemble including Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Jason Sudeikis and great supporting roles from Mary Elizabeth Ellis (It's Always Sunny, New Girl) and Ken Marino (Angel, Role Models, Children's Hospital).
This film is based on the true story of the Loomis Fargo Heist that took place in 1997. One of the biggest heist in American history, over 17 million dollars were stolen and to this day, two million remain unaccounted for.
Galifianakis portrays our protagonist dim-witted David, a Loomis Fargo armored truck driver, along with his co worker Kelly, portrayed by Wiig. Both Kelly and David, with the brains of petty criminal Steve Chambers, portrayed by Wilson, along with some of Steve's henchmen, pull off the heist, yet the characters are so senseless, it stuns me that they made it this far. Obviously, most of it is exaggerated for the purposes of the film, but even so, it makes my heart jump up a bit, flabbergasted.
It also raises a good question of morality as to how far a person is willing to go to woo the one we lust over. What one does to gain the affections of that person, and it also shows how much one person is willing to risk for a chance of wealth.
Honestly, I wouldn't go that far.
Nope.
Masterminds is from the mastermind- see what I did there - of Jared Hess, who also brought us the great Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, so you can expect his uncanny humor in this movie as well.
Also, this movie just so happens to be even better if you're stoned, just saying...
One of the scenes that stood out to me personally, was the scene where Kelly is dropping David off at the airport to leave for Mexico and David makes his move.
Seriously, David?? It just made me cringe, even though I feel so sorry for David.
OH! And the scene when David makes his escape from the party with Kelly in Steve's BMW. It's perfect!!
All the actors in the movie give a stellar and amusing performance, but my absolute favorite were  Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig and Jason Sudeikis. Those characters had me laughing the most at their zany and foolish behavior and the results of their actions - from the heist to the party - it's all one fun ride that Hess knows how to drive and it is definitely worth the watch!!
So go, get on Netflix, and watch for yourself.
