Hey Mother lovers!! Let's talk about Attention, not whores - that is a story for a different day.
Attention.
Attention to what we do, to what we say, how we react, how
other’s react.
Attention. Attention. Attention.
Attention to what is around us
Attention that we like to receive.
Attention I give to everything around me.
Like when I have nothing better to do than to be on Face book
or twitter scrolling away hours of my life
Seeing if anyone liked my status or new picture
Did anyone leave a comment?
Did a celebrity follow my on twitter or liked my tweet
Did someone read my blog?
Did home skillet biscuit finally get that guy to – you guessed
it.
The whole thought of people outside of my bubble and outside
of Texas knowing that I exist is pretty satisfying to me.
Someone I don’t know knows my name. Just like I know the
names of people that don’t know me.
Explosion.
Moreover, Is wanting to have so much attention a human
emotion already programmed inside us or has that emotion or want been exposing
itself the more we become a technology dependent society?
Now that we have the power to interact with others all
around the world, it gives me the sense that we are all connected, more so than
ever before. I wonder if this same thought or emotion was felt before the years
of technology.
Not in the sense that we are connected as beings, but in the
sense that we are connected through the interactions we have with one another,
thus connecting us.
Or has it always been this way? Only that now, it is anyone
who can jump in front of the camera and get it rolling. Wanting attention from
the masses enough to make you a household name.
Attention – in a whole different use of the word, but not
really.
Do we even know what really goes on outside of our own box?
Are we aware of our environment?
Lately, the words ‘fake news’ is thrown around so much to
the point that if a certain narrative doesn’t work for you, it can be called ‘fake
news’ or my all-time favorite ‘alternative facts’.
Daily, we have to check the sources of the information that
we are being fed because these days, opinions can be used as ‘news’ and it has
become some sort of trend to lie about the news that is being presented. We
have news stations being called liars and state TV’s
How important have words become? Words that are written,
spoken, and acted upon.
You literally have to think about saying something the ‘right’
way, if not you are labeled one thing or the other and anything you say can be dissected
and used against you.
Fuck.
We pay attention to what we say, to how we dress, how we
write/text.
We pay attention to what others say, what they wear, what
they do.
Geez.
Attention.
Keep your eyes open and your ears wax free, and pay
attention, nuggets.
No one said we have to agree.
Have a Fun Friday, nuggets.
